His name is Gauge. He's a 10 month old German Shorthaired pointer puppy, similar to Cocoa though she's an English Shorthaired pointer. He's not fixed so he pees on everything including himself. He has been hunting since he was 5 months old. Previous owner kept the dog in the back of his truck in a kennel for most of the day. He's white with liver ticking and a solid liver head. His dark ears means he's an obedient dog. She is similar to the Flat Stanley that many schools are promoting these days. Flat Stanley is part of an "international literacy and communications activity for primary and junior students, teachers and families." As students travel, they take their Flat Stanley on road trips with them, they take his picture in front of the many cool things that are ideal for Flat Stanley's scrapbook (at his home school). The students are responsible for keeping a journal on Flat Stanley's travels. From the official Flat Stanley website, "In the book, Flat Stanley, by Jeff Brown, Stanley is squashed flat by a falling bulletin board. One of the many advantages is that Flat Stanley can now visit his friends by traveling in an envelope. This premise provides a reason for us to keep in touch with each other." Anyhow, so this KC chapter of BSP has taken their version, Flat Rosie, and laminated her and sent her on a road trip. She's starting in Columbia with the newest local chapter, Alpha Zeta Pi - and we have already taken her picture at the University Hospital, with the golden tiger, in front of the columns, with the Jesse Hall dome, drinking Desani water with Beetle Baily, and with the main Shakespeare's menu.
